Goa is not
only referred to as the ‘Beach Capital of India’, but also famous as the ‘Party
Capital of India’. Talking about party destinations, there are a lot of
happening and famous beaches in India. The
beaches of Goa are famous for their crowd, music, entertainment, adventure
sports and water sports etc. In this blog, I will mention some beaches that have
been harbored by Goa over the years.
If you are a
party animal, then Goa is a party zoo also. Rave parties became the centre of
attraction in Goa in 1960’s with the advent of hippies. Drugs, drinks and loud
music were the main elements of nightlife in Goa. With Goan government’s
approach to promote up market tourism instead of backpacker’s tourism, the rave
parties have now become trance parties. ‘Trance’ is the unique Goan music style
developed by local music bands. There are several nightclubs in Goa wherein
people celebrate trance parties, which are now called Trance Parties with
dance, music and boozing.
Anjuna
Beach, often known as the ‘Freak Capital of the World’, is quite popular for
its trance parties. There is a pulsating music system here on the beach. It is
a rave party venue around Christmas and New Year. But it is not just Anjuna
Beach raving with parties; there are several other party venues such as Baga,
Colva, Calangute and Dona Paula beach.
Some popular party destinations are as
follows:
- Ziggy's at Colva
- Lido's at Dona Paula
- Tito's at Baga
- Temptations at Red Cab on Vagator
If you idea of Goan party is all about a laid back
evening with friends, Goa has some really charming beach shacks wherein you can
spend the evening gorging on sea food and chilled bear in a beachside shack.
